My name is Jordan Labbe. As a visual artist and sound inspired poet, I believe that art and creative expression are essential components to cultivating the lives we live. All of our stories are laced with a collective of experiences and paradoxes- reality and dream, struggle and grace, pain and beauty. I believe authentic expressions of this collective and ongoing experience has power to impact the way we live our lives, respond to the world around us, and express the soul within us.
As an artist, I am impassioned tell stories of life through expressive and lyrical gestures of paint, sound, and words. The art I assimilate is eclectic in that of my mediums flow in and through each other:
I am inspired by sound and movement in the world- from the every day sounds we encounter, to the art of musical composition and sound production. I use words as a way to explicate my reflections. I create visuals, or paintings, from what I discover through this process of experiencing and receiving revelations. The creative space, for me, is where the my human experience, soul awareness, and spiritual consciousness are set on representing the depth of my story, and in turn cultivate a purposive life.
